LOL I remember the angst. I was sixteen once ya know living in North Long Beach and dining on 10 cent hot dogs at Dooley’s Hardware Del Amo & Long Beach Blvd.). It was the sixties and when we listened to our music IT WAS FULL BLAST!!!
I watched the video top to bottom Ethan and I can say it was an experience. Not being the “normal viewer of the likes of such videos I can still see the attraction. They keep it moving and build to a crescendo, nice.
One time when my older brother was promoting bands I went to Seattle. I think I was a Sgt. by then and some time to visit him there. Stoney (Dave) took me to some old towering stucco covered bldg, looked like an old church. Inside we watched what wasn’t really my cup of tea but my brother saw they were going somewhere. He didn’t promote these guys but when I tell some people it was “The Dead Kennedys” they get jealous that I actually saw them when they were new but that I didn’t really understand they’re popularity. because I never listened to it.
I appreciate their art because it practices that cherished freedom of mine “expression”. As with all freedoms I am willing to tolerate it enough to actually same something about it.
PS I never tell the DK story to moody young women, for some reason they always get upset. :O
I always enjoy finding out that Stizz is still alive.
